The purpose of this research was to examine the academic performance in Mathematics of the 3rd year high school students in selected schools in East Cavite and its relationship to some psycho-social factors during the school year 1992-93. There were 100 respondents who participated. Descriptive analysis method was adopted. The instrument used were: Form 137, Self-administering Test of mental Ability, Survey test on Study Habits and Attitudes, Questionnaire on the socio-economic status,and Questionnaire on environmental factors. For statistical data the researcher used: Percentage, T-test mean and Chi square. Based on the findings , it revealed that there was no significant relationship that existed between Mathematics performance on one hand and sex, age, socio-economic status, teachers performance, family, peer group and classroom conditions on the other hand. But there was a significant relationship that existed between Mathematics performance and study habits and mental ability. (20 tables)*ebc
